Citropol Polymers: Made with Sustainable Feedstocks and Green Processing
- Citropol polymers are derived from citronellol, a natural acyclic monoterpenoid found in citronella oils. The citronellol is derived from terpenes that are extracted from the sap of sustainably grown pine trees.
- These raw material terpenes are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. This certification confirms that the forest is managed to preserve biodiversity, benefit the lives of local people and workers, and sustain economic viability.
- P2 Science converts the citronellol into Citropol polymers by way of a green, clean, mild, and high yielding conversion process called Process Intensified Continuous Etherification
Citropol® HA is a biorenewable, biodegradable, and biocompatible emollient with a non-volatile, silicone-like sensory profile. Newly developed with a medium viscosity and lightweight feel, Citropol® HA is a viable alternative to dimethicone 100 cPs.
Citropol® HA imparts distinct lubricating properties with rich shine and feel when used as low as 1% in personal care and cosmetics formulations. Citropol® HA is compatible in skin care, hair care, deodorant, antiperspirant, and color cosmetic applications. It does not compromise human and environmental safety.
