PEACHCALM developed by Dermalab to soothe sensitive scalps, is inspired by gum/resin that Peach trees produce to heal and protect themselves – Prunus Persica (Peach) Gum
Plant gum/resin is induced by infection, insect attack, chemical or mechanical injury, water shortage and other environmental stresses.
Plant Gums play an important role in inhibiting the spread of bacterial and fungal pathogens within infected tissues
PEACHCALM is recommended to treat sensitive scalps associated with disturbed microbiome and excessive sebum. Physiological conditions of the scalp have a strong correlation with the microbiota which is easily affected by the environment.
P. acnes, which is the most widely distributed in sensitive scalp, decomposes sebaceous triglycerides into free fatty acids and glycerol using lipase. Degraded glycerol is used for the growth of P. acnes. Free fatty acids irritate follicular epithelium and induce severe inflammation.
This unbalanced microbiome further increases the sensitivity of the scalp, decreases the quality of the hair and could lead to the hair loss at the end.
