Citropol® DE-4: Citropol DE-4 is a high-molecular-weight liquid polymeric emollient designed to replace silicones and heavy esters in formulations. It is made from upcycled, biodegradable materials and boasts excellent conditioning and detangling properties, especially for textured and curly hair.
DE-4 enhances the sensory experience by adding richness and luxury to textures in hair care, skincare, and body care products. Its eco-friendly and sustainable credentials, including being registered in China and biodegradable (testing ongoing), make it an excellent fit for brands focused on green beauty solutions.
DE-4 also improves the tactile feel of alkanes and provides a less tacky, more luxurious feel in formulations. It is ideal for replacing silicones in formulations for hair care, specifically in curly hair products, where it outperforms silicone in conditioning and detangling.
